Preserving Home Stability: SEOPW CRA's Rental Assistance Program

In response to the surge in rental rates, the SEOPW CRA proudly introduced the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP). We allocated a million-dollar fund offering a lifeline to residents within the SEOPW CRA boundaries. Each qualified household received up to $3,000 in rental assistance, directly distributed to the housing provider upon approval. Our first-come-first-served approach ensured fairness while helping as many residents as possible until funds were exhausted.

Rising Housing Costs: Addressing the Rental Crisis Head-On

As the cost of living rises in the City of Miami, especially with rental rates soaring above $2,000, many Overtown residents find themselves in financially uncertain times, with their incomes falling short of the recommended federal guidelines for meeting housing costs. Our Rental Assistance Program was the SEOPW CRA's timely intervention, helping to bridge this gap and ensure housing stability for our community members.
